Museum

The Oglethorpe University Museum of Art occupies the third floor of the Philip Weltner Library, which was opened in the spring of 1993 after extensive renovations of the previous Art Gallery (1984-1992). The Museum encompasses 7,000 square feet, offers a comfortable, intimate environment created by two spacious galleries, and an inviting gift shop featuring items of beauty from around the world. The Museum has become an important cultural addition to Atlanta’s growing art scene, drawing thousands of visitors each year.  The Museum and its two art galleries is the perfect setting to host lectures, concerts, dances, art shows and receptions. The Skylight and Rubin galleries can accommodate 80 guests each.
